London Baby!

Well hello there all my lovely readers, long time no write!
Last week me and the boyf decided that we wanted to go down to London. Well, actually it went more along the lines of him saying' shall we go down to London next weekend?' and me replying 'yeh ok!' Things escalated quickly from there! He was wanting to go down to do a bit of super car spotting and the first plan was to get the mega bus down early in the morning, returning last thing at night. After checking prices curiosity got the better of him and he went on to check train prices, followed by hotels! A few hours later and the plan was to go down for a couple of days, hooray :) Fast forward to the following Sunday and we are on our way to the big city! Although we nearly didn't make it at all! what we failed to realise is that the day we chose to go down was also the same day as Pride in Leeds which meant that several city centre roads were closed off, including the exact one we needed to be on to get to car parking! After getting stuck in a diversion loop for twenty minutes we somehow managed to get out and headed back in the right direction. We parked up and ran our socks off to the train station, making the train with minutes to spare, phew!!

When we got to London we headed down onto the tube towards Covent Garden since that was where the hotel was we were staying in. We had about an hour and a half to spare before we could check in so decided to check out what a few of the shops had to offer, which ended up with me buying a summer dress from Zara, which I later changed into. After check in we decided our first port of call would be Knightsbridge since this was a well known super car spotting area, and it definitely didn't disappoint. We saw Ferrari's, Lamborghini's, Aston Martins, Mclarens to name but a few.
Walking in the London sun for hours we certainly worked up an appetite, and a thirst! With nothing down Sloane Street taking our fancy, we ventured further afield towards Hyde Park where we came across The Hard Rock Cafe, score! Needless to say many cocktails were consumed, accompanied by Three Bean Nachos, Twisted Chicken Mac 'n' Cheese and a Hickory Bacon Cheeseburger, all of which we shared. We were sufficiently stuffed!

A wonder up through Mayfair, through Hyde Park, a stop off at Harrods and then we went back to the hotel for a freshen up and a change of clothes. Obviously we were still way too full to think about going out for an evening meal so decided we would just go for a stroll through Covent Garden to see what was going on. We stopped and watched a few street performers, a mime of which was particularly good, and then decided to just keep on walking to see what we could find. And what we found didn't disappoint. Walking right down onto the south bank we stumbled upon the London Wonder Ground Carnival which is currently taking place. It was amazing! They had beach shacks, carousel bars, rides, popcorn and hotdogs, shows the lot! We grabbed ourselves a drink from one of the shacks and had a look around before pulling up a couple of deck chairs and putting the world to rights.

The time was now 11pm and we thought it about time we started to make our way back to the hotel. We went the scenic route via Westminster, Trafalgar Square and Leicester Square. After all that walking (in heels i might add, impressive!) we were beginning to get a bit peckish so thought we'd grab some food on our way to the hotel. Oh how wrong we were, it appears that no restaurants in London are open past 10pm? SAYY WAAATT?! So back to the hotel it was and on Just Eat it was! We ordered some gorgeous Japanese food which came from a restaurant in East London, and there we were eating noodles and sushi in our hotel bed at 1am! You can't say we didn't make the most of our trip! Obviously after getting up at 5am for the train and all the walking we had done in the heat we were now more than ready for bed. Night Night.

Bring on the next morning and we got up and ready and headed straight back to Kings Cross to get our train, which was cancelled :| Luckily there was another one just 30 minutes later which we were allowed to get on. So while waiting we checked out Platform 9 3/4 which had THE longest queue, and grabbed some breakfast from Leon Naturally Fast Food. My salmon and poached egg muffin was delish! 2 hours later and we are back at Leeds train station headed to pick the dogs back up.
We had one of the best weekends in such a long time and we sooo weren't ready to come home after just one day! But hopefully we will be able to get back down again soon! Oh! and I tried my hand at vlogging our trip too which will hopefully be up on my YouTube channel over the next few days! So go check that out as well!

I hope you've enjoyed hearing about my trip as much as I enjoyed actually being there!

Until next time,

Christmas Eve

Blogmas Day 24

Well here we are on Christmas Eve how exciting is that?? This past month has just flown by, I can remember starting Blogmas and thinking it was a hard hill for me to climb, yet here we are on the 24th with 24 posts up, one every single day in December! I honestly didn't know myself if I would be able to do it but I have! There has been some nights where I've got back late from work and the last thing I wanted to do was write and take photos for a post, but I was determined to see it through.

I've gained so many more views and followers by doing this and I've been interacting with you lot a lot more which I've truly loved!

I can't say how often I will be posting in the new year, but it has shown me that there's no excuses for not posting something, even if it's just a little something there is always something you can think of if you put your mind to it!

I'm wishing you all a very merry Christmas! I hope Santa brings you all you've asked for and your day is filled with love.

Until next time,
